Mr. Hans Rathmayer’s long and competent work was rewarded in the Council Meeting of European Societies
Mr. Hans Rathmayer has been the secretary of foreign affairs in the Finnish Geotechnical Society between the years 1977-2003 and also after that helped FGS and the new the secretary of foreign affairs prof. Tim Länsivaara when needed.
On Tuesday 13th of September 2005 vice-president for Europe Pedro Pinto and chairman of FGS Ilkka Vahaaho gave the diploma of ISSMGE and FGS to Rathmayer for his contributions to the international affairs of soil mechanics and geotechnical engineering. Distinction took place in the Council Meeting of European Societies in Osaka, Japan.
